AKTIVITAS DIGITAL CITIZEN JOURNALISM PADA MEDIA SOSIAL (ETNOGRAFI VIRTUAL PADA GROUP FACEBOOOK JARINGAN INFORMASI TUBAN)

Abstrak

The rapid development of communication technology in the community facilitates information
distribution channels to all directions. With social media, information that is local in nature is
easier to spread from residents to residents and also directed to residents or what is commonly
referred to as citizen journalism. One of the social media that carries out digital citizen
journalism activities is the Tuban Information Network Facebook group. Members of this group
often convey information about Tuban. With the aim of knowing digital citizen journalism
activities on the Tuban Information Network facebook group and the implementation of Citizen
Journalism on the Tuban Information Network Facebook group, researchers used virtual
ethnographic research methods and participatory cultural theory. The results of the study show
that members of the Tuban Information Network Facebook group have carried out citizen
journalism activities on the Facebook group. Facebook group members become audiences who
actively participate and are shown by giving each other information and responding to
information received. Members of this group interpret that by participating in the Tuban
Information Network Facebook group they feel they are more useful for members of other groups
and members of this Facebook group interpret this group as a means of information and
communication and as a means of self-expression.
