Abstract

Internships are a form of practical field learning designed to bridge academic theory with real
world implementation. This article is based on an internship experience at the East Java
Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP Jatim), particularly in the rehabilitation
services and issuance of the Certificate of Narcotics Examination Results (SKHPN). The
purpose of this study is to describe the workflow and evaluate the contribution of these services
in enhancing public service quality, especially in the context of drug abuse prevention and
treatment. A qualitative descriptive method was used through observation and active
participation during the internship period. The results show that the rehabilitation and SKHPN
services have implemented key principles of public service, including accountability,
transparency, and efficiency. However, some challenges remain, such as limited human
resources and suboptimal use of digital technologies. These findings highlight the important
role of public administration students in supporting and improving government services
through field involvement.
