OPTIMIZING THE ROLE OF THE SURABAYA CITY DPRD SECRETARIAT IN SUPPORTING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DPRD

Abstract

Surabaya, as the administrative center of East Java Province, plays a strategic role in regional development. The process of formulating Regional Regulations (Perda) is crucial in governing community life, and the Surabaya City Government actively participates in this initiative. This writing aims to optimize the role of the Surabaya City DPRD (Regional People's Representative Council) Secretariat in supporting the DPRD's performance. Using a descriptive analysis method, this research explores the tasks and functions of the Secretariat in supporting the DPRD. The results of the study highlight the crucial role of the DPRD Secretariat in meeting the preparation needs for meetings, inputting legislative data, and compiling commission files. The conclusion drawn from this research is the author's understanding of the key role of the DPRD Secretariat in optimizing the performance of the DPRD as a representative institution.
