ASSISTANCE IN THE SURABAYA CITY DPRD SECRETARIAT AS A SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR SUPERVISION TASK

Abstract

The Surabaya City Regional People's Representative Council (abbreviated as Surabaya City DPRD or Surabaya DPRD) is a unicameral legislative institution within the city of Surabaya, East Java Province, Indonesia. In order to improve the performance of the DPRD Secretariat as a support system for supervisory duties, evaluation is an important tool for identifying existing strengths and weaknesses. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The location of this research was carried out at the Surabaya City DPRD Secretariat Office. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of interviews, documentation and observation. Data analysis techniques are used with data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The following are the stages of a writer's internship at the Surabaya City DPRD Secretariat Office. The results of this evaluation can be used as a basis for developing recommendations for improvement and development of resources so that DPRD supervision is more efficient, effective and responsive to community needs and the demands of developments in the political and technological environment. The DPRD Secretariat is an integral part of the DPRD institution which is responsible for carrying out various administrative and technical activities to support legislative and supervisory tasks. The aim of this research is to evaluate the performance of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Secretariat as a support system in carrying out supervisory duties. The research will include an in-depth analysis of how the DPRD Secretariat has carried out supporting functions, including information management, planning and coordination relevant to the DPRD oversight process.
