Abstract

Criminalization of journalists is a form of crime that is rarely noticed by the local community, this is the basis for writing this journal. So that the local community understands the existing rules for conveying news that concerns a person's good name or the good name of an agency. Journalism is a profession that exists in Indonesia and has laws that regulate journalists in seeking and publishing news. Journalists themselves have a Press Council which supervises and defends journalists who are involved in a problem, including the problem of criminalizing journalists. about the defamation that journalists often receive from people who are anti-criticism. Defamation of our good name, if we examine it and you need to know, is a form of verbal activity that concerns our good name, that of other people, or institutions that aims to undermine our dignity and dignity that is not based on existing facts and using language that contains sarcasm. However, what journalists have done in reporting on individuals or institutions, I think have gone through various procedures to find information and it is very complicated to get to the publication stage, so that it can be accepted and read by the general public.
