PENEGAKAN HAK ASASI MANUSIA BAGI KELOMPOK TRANSGENDER DI INDONESIA

Abstract

This study aims to determine the importance of providing protection to transgender people as Indonesian citizens. Find out more about legal protection for transgender people and how it is implemented. The research method used is normative or prescriptive legal research with a Legislative Approach and Case Approach that uses primary legal materials, namely legislation and secondary legal materials, namely books, journals and other sources that are still relevant to this research. The results of the study can be seen that legal protection as Indonesian citizens from discrimination has indeed been running but has not been maximized, this is because transgenders are currently still receiving unpleasant behavior. The obstacles to providing protection to transgenders are that there is still no firm attitude from the government in dealing with the issue of protection for transgender people, there is no legal regulation made in a special way for transgender conditions and people's attitudes are still indifferent to transgender people.
