Makna Tradisi Sigajang Laleng Lipa pada Masyarakat ‘Wara Barat’ Palopo, Sulawesi Selatan

Abstract

Tarong Sarong is one of the tradition of the Bugis tribe in South Sulawesi. Where this tradition
is to bring together two men in one sarong to solve a problem by fighting, even until one of
them dies. Some of the problem regarding the occurrence of Tarung Sarong are, because there
is one family who does not accept the oppression of certain parties, love problem are also one
of the reasons for the occurrence of Tarong Sarong. However, both of the families did not
immediately agree with the occurrence of Tarung Sarong. Usually Tarung Sarong occurs when
the deliberation carried put by the two families does not reach a consensus. However, as the
time progressed, Tarung Sarong from time the time was increasingly lost. With the holding of
Tarung Sarong or Si Gajang Laleng Lipa, researchers want to know the meaning of holding
this tradition, and how it is relates to the current area
