Abstract

This research is motivated to find out in depth and obtain how public relations carry out strategies in improving the reputation of schools at Nahdlatul Ulama 1 Gresik High School so that they can continue to compete with other schools and still maintain the reputation of their schools. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained is then reduced to be presented and then conclusions are drawn from the data obtained. The theory uses the theory of public relations strategy proposed by the Cutlip-Center, namely identifying problems, planning programs, carrying out activities, evaluating programs. Based on the results of the study, the strategy carried out by the public relations of SMA Nahdlatul Ulama 1 Gresik in improving the reputation of the school is 1) Recommend school development to the principal, 2) Manage negative opinions about the school, 3) Disseminate positive
information about the school, 4) Promote the school, 5) Collaborating with foreign agencies and universities, 6) Involving the surrounding community in every school activity.
