Abstract

The phenomenon in the last two decades (2010-2020) is popular Korean or K-POP which makes the writer research related to the Communication Behavior of BTS Boyband Fans in Surabaya (Phenomenology Study of Communication Behavior of the Surabaya ARMY Community in Supporting BTS Boy Band). With qualitative research methods interpretive paradigm and phenomenological study approach. Data collection techniques are interviews, participant observation and documentation and use purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Communication Behavior of BTS Boyband Fans in Surabaya (Phenomenological Study of Communication Behavior of the Surabaya ARMY Community in Supporting BTS Boy Band) is ARMY sending email messages and marking BTS in Instagram stories, and saying the words I PURPLE U! has the numeric code 1365244 which is. They use telephone and social media to communicate with ARMY, they hug and shake hands when meeting fellow ARMYs. Having special movements that show the identity of BTS members, voicing yells when BTS performs, imitating BTS's clothing or fashion, and using items that are identical to BTS such as hoodies with the BTS logo and so on. And finally, they show smiling faces when they are happy and languid facial expressions when they are sad.
