Abstract

News about cases of sexual violence in the educational environment often occur today. Become a phenomenal topic that is widely reported by the mass media. The role of the mass media is very important in providing information as well as influencing public opinion. The researcher aims to see how the online media Kompas.com and Mind Rakyat.com frame the news about the rape case of 12 female students by their teacher. This research method uses the theory of framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kociski. This study uses a qualitative descriptive. The results of the analysis show that there are differences between the two online media, Kompas.com and Mind Rakyat.com, in framing the news "Rape of 12 Santriwati by Pesantren Teachers". Kompas.com focuses on the incidents experienced by the victims, while Mind Rakyat.com focuses on the perpetrators of rape
