Abstract

conveyed by the film A Silent Voice is able to reduce acts of bullying against people with disabilities. This study uses a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. This study refers to the theory of perception with the relevance of nonverbal communication variables. The flow of this research uses data analysis model from Miles and Huberman. There is a positive perception and also has a different perception of the film A Silent Voice. Of the four positive perception variables from the film, students with disabilities have little in common in the use of sign language, while negative perceptions are found in the four variables. Recommendations for future research. 1) the filmmaker must see from the point of view of students with disabilities globally. 2) accompanying teachers must provide direction so that they are able to provide encouragement for the self-development of students with disabilities.
