Abstract

Investment has been known for a long time but is now better known to the public since the outbreak of illegal trading investment fraud cases by 2 well-known Youtubers Indra Kenz and Doni Salmanan as well as public figures. News related to the phenomenon of illegal trading investment colored several media, both online media and other mass media. This study aims to determine the framing of the phenomenon of illegal trading investment in the online media Detik.com for the period 26 – 29 March 2022. This study uses the theory of social reality construction from Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckman, and the method used is qualitative with a framing analysis approach. model Robert N. Entman. The data collection in this study was in the form of documenting articles published by Detik.com in the period 26 – 29 March 2022. The results of this study, that in the Detik.com framing analysis on the five news reports, journalists favored the victims of fraud as the marginalized parties. In addition, journalists prioritize how the settlement that occurs is carried out legally by the police and regulations that can assist victims in dealing with illegal trading investment cases.
