Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine and analyze the situations in the film "Dignitate" that
involve components of verbal and nonverbal violence. Using a textual analysis research approach
that is useful for examining, analyzing, and deconstructing the ideology, values, or interests
underlying a media text, as well as the study of hermeneutic theory, which studies the
interpretation of texts and other indicators that can be considered texts. The film "Dignitate''
features various components of verbal and non-verbal aggression, according to the researcher. In
this video, verbal abuse is depicted through sequences of screaming, disrespectful, insulting, and
demeaning self-esteem, as well as associating humans with animals. Meanwhile, non-verbal
aggression is depicted in this film through scenes. This research is expected to appeal to
filmmakers to be wiser producing films that contain violence, it is also necessary to be mistaken
for giving audience age limit to each film to be shown, and also be able to find out the psychology
of the audience so that scenes of violence in films are not exemplified in everyday life.
