Abstract

Film is a mass communication medium that displays audio and visuals from the audience. One
of the films that boomed in 2017 was the film Call Me By Your Name directed by Luca
Guadagnino and based on the novel by Andre Aciman. This film is a romance, drama and
coming-of-age type. There is a problem in this thesis, namely how the queer results in the film
Call Me By Your Name when analyzed using the analysis of the Tzvetan Todorov’s model. This
study aims to determine the queer results in the film Call Me By Your Name based on the
narrative analysis of Tzvetan Todorov's model. This study uses the narrative analysis approach
of Tzvetan Todorov's model by using data collection with observations in the film Call Me By
Your Name. The data collection techniques in this study are observation, documentation, and
online data search. The validity of the data in this study consists of observational persistence
and referential adequacy. This study found that the findings in the storyline in the film Call Me
By Your Name used the narrative model of Tzvetan Todorov’s, having three storylines, namely
the initial storyline, the middle storyline, and the final storyline.
