Abstract

Street vendors (PKL) are a common phenomenon that occurs in big cities in Indonesia. The case of street vendors is considered by many parties as a form of the government's failure to provide job opportunities for the poor. The aims of this research are: 1. Knowing and explaining the implementation of the policy for controlling street vendors has been effectively implemented on Jalan Benteng Pancasila, Mojokerto City, 2. Knowing and explaining the effectiveness of the policy for controlling street vendors on Jalan Benteng Pancasila, Mojokerto City. The results of this study provide the fact that the existence of street vendors in Mojokerto City has caused many problems, including making the city disorganized, dirty and causing congestion. So far, control measures have been carried out by the Satpol PP apparatus. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the control of street vendors (PKL) in Mojokerto City so far has not been running optimally. This is due to several factors, such as: (1) There is no strict punishment for street vendors who still sell on the roadside (2) Mojokerto City Government has not been consistent and unified in responding to the existence of street vendors.
