Abstract

East Java is one of the provinces with the highest number of cases of violence in Indonesia. In accordance with the regional regulation of East Java Province No. 16 of 2012 concerning the implementation of the protection of women and Children Victims of violence which regulates the rights of victims. Therefore, the researchers focused this study on the implementation of the handling of victims of violence in children conducted by the Technical Implementation Unit of women and Child Protection of East Java province. Which aims to determine the form of handling provided by the Technical Service Unit for the protection of women and children of East Java Province in dealing with victims of violence against children and knowing the inhibiting factors in providing services for the handling of victims of violence against children. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The results of this study is that with the handling done, the victim can feel the benefits and experience changes in him after receiving the handling provided by the Technical Implementation Unit of women and Child Protection and in handling the Technical Implementation Unit of women and Child Protection do many strategies including cooperation with related institutions to resolve the case being handled. The conclusion obtained that the implementation of the handling of victims of violence in children provided by the Technical Implementation Unit of women and Child Protection of East Java province has been going well but still not optimal because it is hampered by the number of human resources available and has limited facilities in the form of tools to support the results of the assessment.
