Abstrak

This study focuses on the social injustice that is shown in the Drishyam film originating from India. This film shows a person who has a high rank who acts as he pleases with ordinary people. This often happens everywhere, where the weak are oppressed by the strong. In this case, people of the rank of ordinary people / underprivileged. This research is included in the category of qualitative research that applies descriptive analysis which examines more deeply the topic under study, namely analyzing data in the form of information, observations, reviewing, and analyzing objects in the form of words or text, writing, images, then processed by techniques specific analysis to support the explanation in the analysis. The analytical technique used in this research is to use semiotic analysis. Semiotics as a model captures the world as an arrangement of connections that have a basic unit called a sign. Furthermore, semiotics concentrates on the idea of ​​the presence of signs. In this review, the analyst using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic model divides the sign into two parts, namely: the signifier and the signified.
