Abstract

Basically an online media does function to provide all information quickly and actually.
However, due to the development of the times, a media becomes a provider of information that
is inserted with the interests or benefits of certain parties and groups. This study examines how
a mass media frame or provide a frame when presenting a news report. The topic of the news
that will be analyzed is the KPI's clarification and apology for the statement that caused
controversy regarding the appearance of actor Saipul Jamil on TV. The method used in this
study is a qualitative method using research subjects kompas.com and liputan6.com. The
framing analysis technique used is the analysis model of Pan & Kosicki. From the analysis
results, Kompas.com media is more neutral in reporting on KPI institutions seen from the
completeness of the news content presented compared to liputan6.com
