PENDAFTARAN PARTAI POLITIK SEBAGAI PESERTA PEMILIHAN UMUM

Abstract

Advances in technology and digital media have changed many public activities and services that require the use of personal data. Personal data contains important meaning for every individual so it must be protected from potential misuse that could harm society. In organizing elections, misuse of personal data by politics is a phenomenon that often occurs every time the registration stages of political parties participate in elections. This research was conducted to answer challenges or problems regarding the misuse of personal data in registering political parties as election participants. The paradigm used in this research is the constructivism paradigm with normative and empirical legal research methods. The research results show that: 1) misuse of personal data in registering political parties as election participants occurs because the political recruitment function in political parties has not been implemented properly. 2) misuse of personal data still often occurs without the legal obligations of political parties regulating the protection of personal data.
